In late February, I was hospitalized and diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Following many visits with specialists, I began chemotherapy and radiation treatments at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
I know I have a long road ahead, but I am up for the fight. l look forward to conquering this cancer and enjoying my life.
There is no doubt that some of my positivity stems from my experience supporting Daron Fisher, a close family friend who fought brain cancer a decade ago. Sadly, Daron lost his battle.
Before Daron passed, he and his wife, Beth, established Keep Punching, a foundation to help fund research and support patients affected by the disease.
I have been a big supporter of Keep Punching since its inception – before I became a brain cancer patient myself.
Now more than ever, the mission of Keep Punching hits home. I completely understand the need for more research and support for those fighting brain cancer.
